From July 3 to August 2 the cloister of Santa Maria Novella hosts the 29th edition of Florence Dance Festival where will be presented the greatest performance companies. This year the Florence Dance Festival continues keep the art of dance in the foreground making it more available and close to people.
With assistance and financial support of the City Council of Florence, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, the Department of Live Performance and the Foundation of Savings Bank of Florence, and the other leading companies of Tuscany, the Festival has been able to invest ideas and passion, as well as expected financial contributions for culture, to found, grow and fortify a project that has today become an appointment of excellence and an emblematic international event.
Since 1990 the Florence Dance Festival organize and promote the art shows, producing avant garde choreography, giving a workshops and trainings, supporting events for an audience of all ages composed by the locals and tourists.
In addition to the wonderful courtyard of the Bargello National Museum, the Florence Dance Festival animates the stage of the historic Teatro Verdi and the Roman Theater of Fiesole, as well as numerous events in Piazza del Carmine.
