The Musart Festival: music, dance, art and tasty food

Florentine festival Musart for the third year will present great national and international artists in Piazza della Santissima Annunziata. Most of them have already been announced. Thanks to collaboration with the University of Florence and with the places of art and culture adjoining to the square, the spectators can visit for free the Humanistic Library of the University, l’Istituto degli Innocenti, the Church of Santa Maria degli Innocenti, the Church of San Francesco Poverino, the Garden of the Archaeological Museum, the Basilica of Santissima Annunziata, the Canteen of the Diocesan Caritas – San Francesco.

The concerts:

  • 17th July – the festival will open with the concert band “Baustelle”.

  • 18th July – the orchestra of Tuscany, directed by Timothy Brock. He will perform Rhapsody in blue and West Side Story.

  • 20th July – Roberto Bolle will perform his show “Roberto Bolle and Friends”: the dance gala of the famous Italian star that will be not only as a director but also as a performer along with some of the best dancers in the world.

  • 21st July – Remo Anzovino who will perform live music for “The Cameraman” by Buster Keaton, at 9.15pm. Free entry, reservation is obligatory.

  • 22nd July – “The rock lessons of Assante and Castaldo” event at 9.15 pm. Free entry, reservation is obligatory.

  • 23rd July – “Chick Corea” is the living legend of jazz that has its roots in the Latin rhythm and in fusion.

  • 24th July – “Jethro Tull” and Ian Anderson accompanied by his band and some special guests in virtual version will celebrate it’s 50 anniversary of progressive rock.

  • 25th July – one of the greatest protagonists of Italian music, Francesco De Gregori. He will go on the stage with Guido Guglielminetti on double bass, Paolo Giovenchi on guitar, Alessandro Valle on pedal steel guitar and Carlo Gaudiello on piano.

  • 26th July – Ermal Meta and Fabrizio Moro after the success of Sanremo festival will rise on the stage Santissima Annunziata with hit “We do not have weapons tour”.

  • 27th July – “Tutti al Opera” event (“Everybody to the Opera”). It was born in the collaboration Musart and the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino: the most precious songs and arias of melodramas are scheduled. Special ticket is 10 euros.

  • At the end of the Festival – “Concert at dawn”, a unique event of its kind that will take place in the Men’s courtyard.
