The 34th edition of the Truffle Festival returns to Fiesole. At the same time of the event is held the Feast of Volunteers of the Blue Cross of Pontassieve, and for this year offers interesting and tasty news.
The Truffle Festival provides an extensive menu wich is able to satisfy the most exquisite taste. There are many specialties with truffles: bruschetta or croutons as appetizers, white lasagne, taglierini or tortelli as first courses, and steak, baked eggs second courses for those who prefer pizza as well. In addition there is also the tartare, the hamburger, the carpaccio and the pies.
The event takes place at the kiosks of the Circolo ARCI Il Girone, located along the banks of the river of Arno, on the old Via Aretina, a road that connects Florence with the nearby town of Pontassieve.
The food stands are open every evening from 7.30 pm. It is easier to get to the place by car, but the 14A bus leads directly from Florence to the site of the festival. The proceeds will be donated to the Blue Cross of Pontassieve, to finance voluntary activities. So, The Truffle Festival offers not only the opportunity to enjoy one of Tuscany’s most delicious delicacies but also participate in a worthy charity.
