If you’re a fan of the performing arts whether it be experimental, contemporary or traditional performance, then you might want to take notice that alongside Firenze Musei, the Direction of the Uffizi Galleries will host a live festival every Tuesday between the 31st of May and the 27th of September this year. Curated by the Department of Digital Communication. Although the majority of it has been and gone, you still have more than a month to drop by to the gallery to see this variety of dance music and theatre performances – between 7pm and 10pm.
There are just three Tuesdays left to visit Uffizi Live this month:
This Tuesday, on the 16th they will have Giovanna Maria Cali curating a musical performance with an artistic twist. While the violinist Giacomo Granchi and the harpsichordist Giacomo Benedetti play a tribute to Mozart, visual artist Andrea Granchi will create his own impression of the musical score in real-time.
On the 23rd of August, the week after, there will be a choice for you between dance and theatre. Agnese Lanza and Julie Havelund will showcase their experimental contemporary dance “Inter Pares Project” while being inspired by the surrounding artwork. While at the same time there will also be Roberto Andrioli’s 16th to 17th century influenced, improvisational performance titled Commedia Dell’arte.
Last but not least, on the 30th of August Uffizi “Live” will display three percussionists-come-jugglers: Bacenetti-Gherardi-Piccioli on its terrace. While in the meantime you will have the chance to join Bustric the Magician on his comedic tour incorporating the different pieces of art in the building as he becomes the “night attendant” of the Uffizi gallery…!
Have fun and love Florence..!
